Phyllis Hirsch-Gowen is a creative, dedicated graphic artist and speaker support specialist with over 20 years experience designing visually captivating PowerPoint presentations and stunning visuals.  This experience includes full life-cycle presentation development (from initial concept to final presentation), as well as the enhancement and updating of existing, tried and true presentations and materials.

Phyllis excels at translating the ideas and concepts of her clients into highly effective visuals that compliment a speaker’s message without distracting the audience.  Phyllis specializes in developing PowerPoint presentations used in conferences, corporate meetings, tradeshows and other large scale events along with their supporting collateral handouts.  In addition to PowerPoint presentations, throughout her career Phyllis has acquired a deep knowledge of corporate identity development and branding.  She consistently leverages all aspects of a client’s identity for maximum impact.

She also has extensive experience providing onsite meeting support and event management for conferences, both large and small.  This includes managing client and contract staff, defining location requirements, coordinating audiovisual setups, as well as designing and developing trade show and corporate event collateral materials.  

Phyllis has fulfilled the graphic design and PowerPoint presentation needs for organizations which encompass the full spectrum of business classes, including manufacturing, foodservice, financial and investment services, investment banking concerns, real estate, medical, dental and pharmaceutical interests, consumer products and non-profit organizations.  Over the course of her career, she has been affiliated with such high-profile companies as ADT, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, American Express, Sandoz, Merck, Pfizer, Gartner, Ariba, Skyy Vodka, GE Capital, Genentech, Alcon, IBM, GE Capital, Oracle and ING Clarion.

 
 
Mike Gowen

Mike brings over 20 years of marketing, business, technical and regulatory writing expertise to Digital Magic Designs. Throughout his career he has held key positions in industries ranging from banking and lending to staffing and e-commerce. Mike can use the written word as both a sword and a scalpel, and he is relied upon by Digital Magic Designs to add power and persuasiveness whenever a client turns to us for copywriting, technical writing, or feels that their presentation’s content needs an overhaul.

Unlike most writers who tend to get pigeonholed into a specific style or subject matter Mike is often asked to write in a style, or about a subject, he is unfamiliar with and leverages his uncanny research abilities to turn out high-quality, intelligent content. The following is a summary of Mike’s experience:

  • As a national correspondent lending policy administrator, stayed abreast of changes to regulations pertaining to the origination, closing, servicing and selling of residential mortgage loans. Revised lending policy manuals which were relied on by over 2,000 approved correspondent lenders, including the addition of real-world examples which illustrated confusing regulatory scenarios.

  • As a commercial loan officer for a community-based bank, was responsible for evaluating and submitting for loan committee approval commercial property loans and lines of credit. Monitored competitive interest rates and trends and reported this information to executive committee.

  • As a software developer and systems administrator for a national healthcare staffing company, developed and maintained systems documentation and implemented internal training, policy and procedure manuals. Designed direct mail pieces and wrote marketing copy for placement in trade publications.

  • As the Chief Information Officer for a national staffing agency, developed and maintained system-wide technical documentation. During acquisitions, was responsible for analyzing IT systems compatibility, reporting results and presenting pre- and post-acquisition plans of action to the respective boards of directors. Negotiated contracts with telecommunications companies and software vendors.

  • As a sales and marketing specialist, spearheaded the Search Engine Marketing efforts for an international aftermarket auto parts company. This included writing search engine-friendly product descriptions for over 10,000 products, as well as relevant content for a rapidly expanding website. Designed and wrote copy for e-mail marketing campaigns.

  • As a Search Engine Marketing specialist, wrote detailed property descriptions for a pre-construction condo sales concern in South Florida. Was responsible for ensuring that copy was relevant, accurate, persuasive and also conformed to local and national real estate advertising regulations.

  • As a Marketing and Business Development Specialist for a local family of automobile dealerships, conceived and established the web presence for the parts division. This included complete website content development, e-mail and direct mail marketing initiatives as well as small and large format advertising design for in-store promotions.
